Review: Anna and the French Kiss

Anna is looking forward to her senior year in Atlanta, where she has a great job, a loyal best friend, and a crush on the verge of becoming more. Which is why she is less than thrilled about being shipped off to boarding school in Paris—until she meets √Čtienne St. Claire: perfect, Parisian (and English and American, which makes for a swoon-worthy accent), and utterly irresistible. The only problem is that he's taken, and Anna might be, too, if anything comes of her almost-relationship back home.

As winter melts into spring, will a year of romantic near-misses end with the French kiss Anna—and readers—have long awaited?

Oh man you guys, this book was great! I'm so glad I read it. As you can see from other reviews of mine, I don't tend to read a lot of contemporary (more paranormal) but after this book I think I'll have to remedy that! I know there are some more amazing ones out there!

There were so many parts where I was chuckling, laughing, or giggling out loud at while reading this book. (My hubby kept looking at me and asking what's so funny) The interaction between the characters and the characters themselves are so relatable and believable. I loved Anna so much. She was funny and awkward. She felt like a real person, one that has embarrassing moments, makes mistakes, and has her own personality quirks. The other characters are also well developed and I liked all of them.

Also, the setting was amazing. I've never been to Paris, but reading this book made me feel as if I were right there and after reading, I was left wanting to go visit this amazing city and see it for myself! And I loved the way Stephanie Perkins adds some french in throughout the book and explains what the words mean in English in a natural way.

When I started this book, I was up late already and only planned to read a couple chapters before bed, but before I knew it, it was 4am and I'd read half the book! And the next night I stayed up late again to finish it! This was one of those books that just left me happy where the feeling lingered after finishing the book. It's not all laughs and fun, there are other parts that tug at your other emotions too (and those parts are great too), but when I finished this book I was left feeling happy and pleased with the book and wanting to find another one just as awesome. This is a book that I know I'll be able to read and reread over and over again. So, check it out. I doubt you'll be disappointed!!

  1. Adding this to my to-read list. Thanks for sharing your review!

  2. So excited to read this! I'm more of a paranormal girl too, but when I find a contemp I love, well, I LOVE it. Great review:)
