Oopsie.

Well I've apparently gotten a couple comments from people on previous posts and I didn't even realize it! I'm sorry. I promise I wasn't ignoring anyone! I'll be more vigilant in the future. So yeah sorry to those of you that comment and didn't get a reply. I answered back :) And thanks for taking the time to read my lil blog. Much appreciated! :D

Zombies!

Okay, so it's been another whirlwind of a week! But I've finally finished that zombie art project thingy I started a little while ago.

TaDa!

I'm not exactly happy with the pictures. You can't see all the detail b/c there's not much distinction in coloring with the sculpture part and the background, but I promise it's easier to see the difference and the details in real life! Might not be happy with the pics of it, but I'm happy with how the project actually turned out! Yay!

Besides that, I'm finishing up teaching summer school this week! BIG YAY! Last day is tomorrow and then I'm free for a couple weeks! Awesome...

Well, aside from work and the zombie book sculpture I haven't had a lot of time to read besides my crit. partner's MS which has been keeping me busy this week as well. So, no real post with a review or a short story but an update at least!

Hope you all are having a great week! <3

Excitement Galore.

Haha! I return victorious and able to save your life now! Yes, you!

So yeah, I did the CPR class and now I'm certified in CPR/First Aid and AED (auto external defibrillator) But, let's still hope I'll never actually have to use this knowledge b/c let's face, that would still be a scary situation to be in.

In other news...I'm completely ecstatic and excited b/c I've got my first critique partner now! It was all pretty random and thanks to twitter, but yeah, I'm pretty excited about it (have I said that yet?) and I think it's gonna be pretty awesome.

Oohhhh more fun stuff....I making an art/craft/fun project relating to Carrie Ryan's books about zombies. Good reads if you haven't devoured them yet like I did. Warning though, you may end up dreaming about being attack by zombies, becoming a zombie, or watching your friends turn into zombies before coming after you if you read the books late an night like I did! Anyway, I'm happy about how it's turning out so far and will post a picture up when I'm done with it!

So for now, goodnight and I'm going back to my WIP b/c yes, let's face it, this post was all part of a procrastination attempt in regards to my WIP. Good news though, I did get almost 900 words written tonight. Now off to finish the other 100 I promised myself I'd get done before it gets any later!

Why yes, yes this is creepy, zombie-esque, mangled, disturbing and bloodied Christina. (it's some of sketch of mine from my high school days. Lol)

Hey All!

Ahhh what a busy day I've had today! Between real work with my students and non-work related work, (i.e.-my Manuscript) I feel like I've been working all day-and night-long! But before I head off to bed with a good book and then doze off way too late again, I wanted to say a quick hello. *Hello!*

So yeah, what else have I been doing with my time for almost two weeks now? Well, a lot of it has been book-related. Last week I spent a lot of my time working on my WIP (Work In Progress) and this week I've been editing my MS (Manuscript) one more time and rewriting another, hopefully better ;) ,query letter for agents. Oh and I've spent more hours than I can even count getting a list of agents together for me to possibly send letters to about my MS. Along with that, I've been reading and editing some of a friend's story and of course reading! A lot!

I just finished up reading the Dark Power Series (The Summoning, The Awakening, and The Reckoning) by Kelley Armstrong. I'm not gonna go into a whole review for all of them but suffice it to say I really liked the series and can't wait for more of her work. I liked how her characters, even in the description of their appearances weren't completely perfect. The story and the dynamics between the characters were fun and intriguing. If you're a fan of paranormal take a look at them. I can't wait to see what else Kelley Armstrong comes out with along these lines. Also another book I just finished up last night with was Siren by Tracia Rayburn and I can't wait until the sequel comes out but I have no idea when that will be. But yeah, it's another great book. Mystery with the hint of otherworld and a dash of romance. Great.

Anyway, hope you all are off to the start of another great week and I'll be back on soon with another real review or maybe a short story if I can work it into my schedule soon. Dunno though, crazy couple weeks coming up for me. Now, off to read before bed. I've got work in the morning and then a CPR/First Aid class to get to in the evening! Night all!

Happy 4th! and Wings Review

Happy Independence Day everyone! Just thought I'd update saying what was going on with me lately. Sorry I haven't update or posted anything in a little while. Summer school is starting Tuesday so I've been back to work this last week and I've also started a new writing project so that's been consuming me when I haven't been reading...and I've been reading a lot! So here's a short, little review of one of the books I just read. Also, forgive any spelling/typing errors on my part. I'm just making this quick b/c I have so much to do today for the 4th! Have a wonderful day!

Wings by Aprilynne Pike

Book Description:
Laurel was mesmerized, staring at the pale things with wide eyes. They were terrifyingly beautiful—too beautiful for words.

Laurel turned to the mirror again, her eyes on the hovering petals that floated beside her head. They looked almost like wings.

In this extraordinary tale of magic and intrigue, romance and danger, everything you thought you knew about faeries will be changed forever.

Review:
This was a great faery story! It had a creative twist on the traditional idea of faeries and I liked the storyline. It kept me intrigued throughout the book and when I was finished I immediately went out the next day and got the second in the series, Spells. There were times in the book where I just wanted to shake Laurel because she was annoyingly making the wrong choice, but what kind of character would she be if she didn't ever mess up? An unbelievable one right? And then the book would just be boring. I also enjoyed the other characters especial Tamani. So all in all, I loved the book, loved the sequel, and am anxiously waiting for the next one, Illusions, set to come out August 8th 2011 and then also the last one!
