Review: Inside Out

Keep Your Head Down.
Don't Get Noticed.
Or Else.

I'm Trella. I'm a scrub. A nobody. One of thousands who work the lower levels, keeping Inside clean for the Uppers. I've got one friend, do my job and try to avoid the Pop Cops. So what if I occasionally use the pipes to sneak around the Upper levels? The only neck at risk is my own…until I accidentally start a rebellion and become the go-to girl to lead a revolution

I loved this book! The world of Inside was amazing and planned out really well. The characters were great. I fell in love with all of them and thought the relationships between all of them were wonderful and really believable. The writing style was really fluid and smooth and there were so many twists and turns in this story that I didn't see coming, some sad and some great! I can't wait for the next book in this series, Outside In, that is set to come out March 2011. I would definitely recommend this book for anyone looking for a good read!

Review: Tithe Series

Tithe, Valiant, and Ironside make up this trilogy by Holly Black

Description (For book 1, Tithe, in the trilogy):

Sixteen-year-old Kaye is a modern nomad. Fierce and independent, she travels from city to city with her mother's rock band until an ominous attack forces the sixteen-year-old back to her childhood home. There, amid the industrial, blue-collar New Jersey backdrop, Kaye soon finds herself an unwilling pawn in an ancient power struggle between two rival faerie kingdoms -- a struggle that could very well mean her death.

I liked this series. I enjoyed the writing style and the storyline of all three books. Holly Black blends the real world with the world of unfriendly faeries together in a really great and believable way. The characters were all believable and the story unravels with great timing. It does have references to drinking, smoking, and drugs in case those might be things you like to steer away from, but I thought it was a good series and I'm glad I read them.
