Review: Paranormalcy

Weird as it is working for the International Paranormal Containment Agency, Evie's always thought of herself as normal. Sure, her best friend is a mermaid, her ex-boyfriend is a faerie, she’s falling for a shape-shifter, and she’s the only person who can see through paranormals' glamours, but still. Normal.

Only now paranormals are dying, and Evie's dreams are filled with haunting voices and mysterious prophecies. She soon realizes that there may be a link between her abilities and the sudden rash of deaths. Not only that, but she may very well be at the center of a dark faerie prophecy promising destruction to all paranormal creatures.

Paranormalcy was such a fun book to read. I loved the character of Evie. She's funny and snarky in a cute way. Of course, how could you not be with a pink taser named Tasey? Evie is believable as a person and so are her relationships with those around her. I loved her relationship with Lend. So cute. It really captured all of the nervous happiness of a first crush/love.

This book had it all: werewolves, vampires, mermaids, ect. and yet it was all done in a really refreshing way! And, of course, Kiersten threw in a couple creative creatures of her own that were amazing! The world and settings that she created in Paranormacly were done just as well as the characters. I can't think of one thing about this book that I didn't love. So, if you love paranormal stories but want a fresh feel then definitely check this book out! "Oh bleep" it was a good book! (don't worry. you'll get the joke once you read the book!) So what are you waiting for?! And have an awesome night, friends! I'm off to go read Clockwork Angel by Cassandra Clare now :) ......oh yeah, and maybe get some of my own writing done too. ;)

p.s.-Kiersten White is having a lovely little contest with very cool prizes for the release of Paranormalcy. The link is here! *Contest is closed*
