Hush Hush by Becca Fitzpatrick.
For Nora Grey, romance was not part of the plan. She's never been particularly attracted to the boys at her school, no matter how much her best friend, Vee, pushes them at her...until Patch comes along.
With his easy smile and eyes that seem to see inside her, Nora is drawn to him against her better judgment, but after a series of terrifying encounters, Nora's not sure whom to trust. Patch seems to be everywhere she is, and to know more about her than her closest friends. She can't decide whether she should fall into his arms or run and hide. And when she tries to seek some answers, she finds herself near a truth that is far more unsettling than anything Patch makes her feel.
For Nora is right in the middle of an ancient battle between the immortal and those that have fallen - and when it comes to choosing sides, the wrong choice will cost her life.
So, I just finished reading this a little while ago and I have to say that I really liked it. I had my doubts about it because I had yet to find an angel-themed book that really held my attention and interested me. But, I found Hush Hush to do this. I thought that the pacing and the writing were both well written. I enjoyed the character of Patch (who doesn't like a cute bad boy?) and Nora. Vee could be rather annoying at times, but who doesn't have at least one person they know that can be like that. Heck, I'm sure I'm that person to some of my friends!....oh man, I really hope not! ;)
Anyway, I really enjoyed this book. It does remind me somewhat of Fallen by Lauren Kate but I found Hush Hush to be a little easier to relate to for the average girl. Needless to say I would recommend this book to any paranormal lovers out there and I am not-so-patiently waiting for the sequel, Cresendo, that is set to come out October 12, 2010 in the states.
